- Recognised everywhere, and what most people type by habit.
- Quick to register online in minutes, and usually cheaper per year.
- Good names are often taken, so you may need a longer name.
.com.bd
- Clearly signals a Bangladeshi business, which helps with local trust.
- Short names are far more likely to be available.
- Registration goes through the national registry and can take longer. It may ask for business documents, so keep your trade license handy.
Which should you choose?
If you serve customers mainly in Bangladesh and the .com.bd version of your name is available, it's a strong choice. If you sell abroad, or the .com is free and short, go with .com. If you can afford it, register both and point one to the other so nobody else can take it.
Tips for picking the name
- Say it out loud. If you have to spell it every time you say it on the phone, it's too hard.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers. People forget them.
